I am Atinuke and it is very lovely to meet you.
Who we are and how we got here
I am the founder and "Chief Slay Officer" of EM Wigs, a black owned, online WigBoutique which started out in Guelph but also operates in Kitchener, Ontario. I am passionate about women looking good in their own way, feeling confident about themselves and improving the quality of lives of people around me. Before being a business owner, I am first a wife, mother, PhD. holder, and Science communicator.
EM Wigs started unofficially to test the market in 2017 after I discovered that no beauty store catered to the wig needs of women of color in the Guelph where I was having my PhD. but got registered in 2019 when we fully launched out.
Why we do what we do
Having lost most of my hair during my stay in Europe due to the effect of the weather, I knew I had to step up and do something when I moved to Guelph. My passion and the knowledge that 40% of women have visible hair loss by the age of 40, inspired me to start this business and I would love to have you join the family.
Our aim is to help women boost or regain their self confidence, one head at a time. Whether for fashion or due to hair loss, we believe that NO WOMAN should feel less of herself.
